At Nightingale Court we believe a sense of freedom is important and we encourage free movement around the Home. All sorts of objects which people with dementia find meaningful are provided. We encourage expression of feelings and promote Service Users doing ordinary everyday things.
Above all Nightingale Court is able to demonstrate a sense of togetherness amongst Service Users, staff, their families, and carers. There is a feeling in the home of companionship, respect, visitors being involved and the community.
LIVING SPACE
Spacious bedrooms at Nightingale Court are all fully furnished and aesthetically designed to a high standard. All rooms have television points, nurse call alarms and smoke detectors. Our recently completed extension offers luxury single rooms with en-suite facilities and separate lounge area that leads onto an attractive court yard.
The original building comprises of 3 Edwardian houses that have been tastefully converted to provide spacious accommodation, which includes 3 lounge areas with satellite kitchenette in the new lounge for families to make themselves hot drinks.
Nutrition and Wellbeing
Meals at Nightingale Court are prepared by experienced chefs using only fresh produce and meeting all dietary requirements of our residents. Nightingale Court has been awarded a ‘five-star’ hygiene standard by the Environmental Health Agency.
Those same standards extend to the wide range of professional services that are available to our Service Users, including hairdressing, chiropody, and beauty therapies.
Convenient Location
Nightingale Court is located on the main road A448, but is quiet and tranquil. The residents can be assured of peaceful surroundings. The home is in close proximity to local shops, pubs and restaurants. The Severn Valley Railway is practically on our door step which means residents can take a stroll over to see the steam trains and enjoy tea and cake in the café.
The care we provide
Nightingale Court is registered to provide personal care for older people with Dementia. Moving to a new home at any time of life can be challenging. We know from working alongside many individuals who have taken this same momentous step that change is never easy. Sometimes, a little extra confidence, encouragement and help make all the difference. That’s what we’ll strive to deliver, every step of the way. The support team at Nightingale Court works closely with Service Users, and their family and friends, to ensure the transition is carefully planned and sensitively completed.
Regular Activities
At Nightingale Court we have a full time activities coordinator who ensures that each individual’s needs are catered for and encourages all residents to enjoy an array of meaningful activities. These activities are based around the life histories of each individual which is completed on arrival. Our activities coordinator also organises regular events and trips to suit the needs of the people that live here.
