Excellence in elderly care at our nursing home on Burton Road, Derby

Nursing care is for people who need a qualified nursing care team available to them 24 hours a day. This might include people who need peg feeding, people who may have suffered a stroke and people with long term conditions. 

Our approach to nursing care is based on the use of personalised care plans which are drawn up in collaboration with individuals we support and their families. With a team of committed healthcare staff, the Home's Registered Manager at Rykneld View focuses on providing high quality care that is safe, compassionate, and responsive to the individual’s needs. We specialise in geriatric and palliative care.

At Rykneld View there are thirty-one single bedrooms which are furnished and equipped to a very high standard with most bedrooms having en-suite facilities.

The new extension supports the main lounge which has an atrium glass roof , kitchenette and doors leading to a paved patio area.

There is a separate bright airy dining room with collapsible doors creating a wide opening to the outside patio. 

Our Chef at Rykneld View uses locally sourced provisions to prepare fresh nutritious meals for all our residents meeting their individual dietary requirements. Our residents are given a choice of meals which can be served to them in their room or they can enjoy it in our dining room.  

The nursing home has been awarded a ‘five-star’ food hygiene rating by the The Environmental Health Agency .

There are many regular activities adapted and formulated for our residents to look forward to and enjoy. More importantly, they find it rewarding and beneficial.

Exercise is a very important stimulation for our residents, particularly for those who find movement of any description quite difficult. Musical armchair exercise is offered regularly, designed for movements of joints and muscles.

At Rykneld View our residents enjoy the Summer Fete or Garden party once a year offering a wonderful time. 

This is one of several events that we hold throughout the year including Valentine’s Day, Easter celebrations, Mothering Sunday, Harvest festival, Halloween party nights, bank holiday fun days and of course the biggest event of Christmas is always the most special time. On a regular basis we have a monthly coffee morning for our residents and families to attend.

We are easily accessible by road and bus from the city’s Inner Ring Road, we are located to the south west of Derby on A5250. There is parking (available at the owners risk) at the front of the home.

 

The nursing home is near to local hospital & shops. Delivery of a daily newspaper/magazines can be arranged - charged directly to the resident.
